How to Book

Ferry reservations can be booked online by phone or through email. Reservations are required and must be made at least 24 hours in advance. Please ensure you book as early as possible prior to your planned departure as failure to do so will likely result in you not being able to book space.

There is a non-refundable deposit required at the time of reservation:

  • One-way: $25.00
  • Round Trip: $50.00

Deposits will be credited upon check in at the departing terminal provided tickets purchased match the date and time of the reservation. Passengers with reservations must provide proof of reservation and should be prepared to provide a photo ID upon request. 

If there is no space available you will have the option to be added to the waitlist for the trip requested. You will be given a “waitlist number”. Should space become available a Reservation agent will contact you to book a reservation, once deposit is confirmed they will confirm your booking and give you a reservation number. Please ensure you leave accurate contact info, Reservation Agents will make every effort to contact you however if you cannot be reached the next person in line will be called.

Booking By Phone

​Reservation Agents are taking calls between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM, Monday to Saturday and 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday. When there is a departure to Black Tickle on Fridays the reservation agents are unavailable to take calls in the morning until the vessel departs. When you call and are placed in que don’t hang up and call back. Stay on the line and an agent will get to you in turn. When you hang up and call back you go to the end of the que.

The reservations line is quite busy and during peak times the wait time to be answered can be long. Because of this and the requirement for reservations to travel, Labrador Marine has implemented a waitlist registration procedure. It is intended to help those looking to secure reservations for future travel and to ensure customers who have a need to travel in the short term (ie: those with a flight that gets cancelled or plans change and a customer cannot reach the reservation office.)

If you are having trouble reaching an agent and are looking to book for a future date, leave your information here and a reservation agent will get back to you. Registering for waitlist is not a substitute for a reservation, please ensure you leave accurate contact info, email address can be added in notes.

If you have an immediate situation where you need to travel within the next 24 hours please submit your information here. While Labrador Marine does require reservations for travel, we recognize that a person’s circumstances may change and need to travel on short notice. If you are registered here we will accommodate access to travel at any port, subject to passenger limits. Please note that we cannot guarantee cabin or vehicle space with waitlist registration.  Note that travel to/from Cartwright is only possible to/from Rigolet or Black Tickle. Travel to/from Black Tickle is only possible to/from Goose Bay, Rigolet or Cartwright.  Requests to/from those port to/from other ports will be cancelled without notice.​​

Additional Booking Information

Passengers travelling with pets are requested to advise the Reservation Office ahead of time by calling 709 896 2262.

Travelers must agree to and sign the Terms and Conditions for Pet Travel prior to allowing their pet on board the vessel.

Children under the age of 14 (student ID may be required) will not be sold a ticket to board the vessel. While onboard, children are the responsibility of the parent or guardian who is travelling with them. Labrador Marine is not responsible for supervising underage children.

For departures from Coastal Communities, all passengers who wish to travel on the Kamutik W MUST call to book space by 6:00 PM, the day prior to departure from the community. Space will be booked and confirmed if available; a non-refundable deposit of $25.00 per reservation is required. Travel to/from Goose Bay/Cartwright is prohibited due to road connection

For departures from Goose Bay you will need to book space by 6:00 PM on Friday for Northbound trips. Ensure you book a vehicle if you have one as this is required for load planning. If you arrive with a vehicle and haven’t booked it you will not be accommodated. A non-refundable deposit of $25.00 is required to book a reservation. When payment is confirmed, you will be given a reservation number and info regarding check in time etc.
