Passenger Conduct

Labrador Marine Inc. is committed to a safe and respectful transportation service.  LMI reserves the right to refuse passage to anyone who appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or whose conduct is safe, unlawful, or considered to be objectionable.

Any person who attempts to obtain passage fraudulently, refuses to pay the prescribed fare, or fails to produce proof of payment of fare upon request, may be refused passage.

Labrador Marine Inc. cannot provide direct supervision for children travelling alone. Children under 14 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. A Guardian MUST be over the age of 18 years of age.

Labrador Marine Inc. has adopted a Passenger Protection Policy for our services. Please review it below.

Please be advised that non travelling persons are not permitted onboard to visit passengers who are travelling.

Passenger Protection Policy

Labrador Marine’s first priority is the safety and security of our passengers, crew and vessel. Our Passenger Protection Policy is in place to protect everyone’s safety and security. Passengers are expected to respect their fellow travellers and allow for their enjoyment onboard the vessel.

LMI has a policy of zero tolerance for behaviour that threatens or interferes with passengers or crew, or behaviour that threatens the safety of the vessel. Onboard crew will continuously monitor the vessel to ensure the LMI’s Passenger Protection Policy is followed.

Endangering the crew and passengers, or failure to follow instructions given by crew to ensure safety and security of all passengers, will result in a travel ban for the people involved. This means that once you reach your destination, you will not be permitted to get back onboard the vessel. Future boarding of the vessel will be denied.

Please respect the onboard rules and your fellow travellers.

Smoking Policy

Please note that smoking is not permitted on passenger ferries as per the provincial regulations.

Policy Regarding Alcohol, Cannabis and Other Drugs

Labrador Marine Inc. reserves the right to refuse passage to any person who appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or whose conduct is unsafe, unlawful or considered to be objectionable. We also reserve the right to curb the use of alcohol, cannabis, or other illegal drugs onboard our vessels.  Consumption of alcohol onboard the vessel is prohibited.

This is to ensure the safety of all passengers onboard, including anyone who may become intoxicated and become injured. In the event a passenger has to be removed from the vessel due to activity as noted the RCMP will be called and the passenger removed at the first available port.
