POLICY FOR SHIPMENT OF SNOWMOBILES & A.T.V.'s
The following outlines the shipping policy regarding the transportation of snowmobiles and ATV’s to/from Labrador Ports.
Machines shipped properly crated (factory crate, completely enclosed) will be shipped at a palletized rate at the current freight tariff rate. Damage claims on units shipped in this manner will be considered and handled through the normal process.
Machines shipped not crated or with insufficient protection will be shipped at the break-bulk rate. Where these units are not properly packaged all damage claims on units shipped in the manner will be declined.
All items shipped with these units, i.e. helmets, belts, oil, will be handled as per section 4.30 of the Coastal Freight Tariff which states that these items are not part of the primary shipment and are at owner’s risk of loss or damage. These items should be shipped on a separate bill of lading. Claims for loss or damage to these items not shipped in the proper manner will also be declined.
For the protection of your valued customers I would strongly recommend that these units be properly crated and proper shipping procedures be followed. We cannot accept responsibility for damage to any freight that is not properly protected for transportation by sea.
