Claims Procedure

Complete claim form (copy available on this site). Form can also be obtained from the local terminal, wharfinger, Purser, or by calling 535 6872 or 896 5072.
Ensure that all information is completed explaining the reason for the claim, contact information, etc.
Include all backup information for the claim including a copy of the bill of lading, repair estimates or invoices showing the cost of goods which are claimed.

Note that damaged goods must be returned to Labrador Marine and a no charge bill of lading cut to forward goods to Lewisporte, att: CLAIMS. A copy of this bill of lading must be included in the claim documentation.
Failure to follow this procedure may result in a rejected claim.

Where there is minor damage to an item the customer has an option to offer a settlement amount which will be reviewed by the Claims Manager, if accepted the customer will keep the goods and will be compensated for the agreed amount.
Note that claims for concealed damage must be reported within 3 days. All claims must be submitted within 90 days in order to be considered.
